WAPSN Conference 2025 Updates
WAPSN Conference Theme
We are excited to announce the theme for this years WAPSN Conference.
This year we are celebrating Meaningful Connections within Peer Work.
Meaningful Connections is about not just how we connect with lived experience, but how we connect with other peer workers, new and emerging updates and the wider peer workforce.
Everything happening at this years Conference will be delivered around the theme of Meaningful Connections, including our talks and activities which will explore topics around;
Connecting with Lived Experience Community Members
Connecting with History
Connection within Research and Evidence Based Practice
Connecting with the Wider Peer Workforce
WAPSN Speaker EOIs
Expressions of Interest are now Open for Speakers for the 2025 WAPSN Conference.
This is your opportunity to connect with the wider Peer Workforce and share learnings and insights that Peer Workers can take back and build into their own Peer Work Practice.
As mentioned above, there are four key themes that every talk will focused on and successful applicants will be decided based on how they fit into those categories.
Last year our biggest feedback is that Peer Workers want the talks to focus on learning and developing new skills, or finding new practical knowledge. As a result, talks that focus on skills development will be prioritised in our selection criteria.
We also want to diversify the types of peer workers, and sectors of peer work that are represented at this years conference. WAPSN has a strong connection to the mental health sector but we want to champion peer workers across a variety of different sectors, not all of whom call themselves Peer Workers, so we strongly encourage our members to send this EOI form throughout their Peer Work networks to diversify the types of Peer Work represented at the WAPSN Conference.
EOI’s will close Thursday the 3rd of April, with all applicants being contacted by the 24th of April.
